Single-Use Products
The Eco Table was born out of a desire to reduce the use of disposables that are not compostable. We simply wish to do our bit to help the environment by making these stylish environmentally products widely available throughout the country.

Many single-use products that are labeled bio-degradable may in fact take many years to break down and may also produce harmful gases, such as methane, in the process.At the Eco Table you can be certain that everything we sell will break down quickly and not leave any toxic residues behind.   

Products made from different woods will start to decompose within hours and will be completely returned to the earth within 90 days in a home compost bin or less than 50 days in a commercial composter. 

Products made from Bagasse (sugar cane fibre and other tree-free fibres) will be completely decomposed within 90 days in a domestic compost bin.
Even if these products go into the landfill you are rest assured that they will quickly decompose – just be sure to use a compostable rubbish sack.
Using eco-friendly tableware like these also negates the need to use detergents - another helping hand to our environment.  

Other Products
The other products available on the Eco Table are made by small producers and artisans using renewable resources. These products are designed to be long-lasting and and when and if they do come to the end of their life, can either be repurposed or disposed of in a way that causes no harm.

What is the difference between Biodegradable and Compostable?
Compostable means that the product will completely break down into carbon dioxide, water and sometimes humus (organic matter that remains after plant residues have decomposed), under specific conditions.  A compostable product will not contaminate the environment and not reduce the value of the finished compost.  

Biodegradable products are those that partially break down.  Biodegradable products will leave traces of material in the environment, may release toxicity in the environment and cannot be used by the earth’s ecosystem as a food source. A biodegradable product will only biodegrade if it is in an environment which includes moisture, heat, and microorganisms. Without those three components, there will be no biodegradation.
